There are times when our vision narrows
and we see so little that lies in front of us.
No possible pathways,
very little light to guide
an unrelenting story without a next chapter.
The confines of a sultry corridor, without the hint of a door handle
from which to gain a new perspective.
At times like this,
life can feel stifling,
unreachable
cold
alone.
Yet one day we will wake
and there will be a shard of light,
a flame may be lit that bends your way.
You may feel the warmth
the solace
some idiom drawing you forward.
Slowly, step by tentative step
what felt like such stagnation
becomes buoyant.
The flow begins
A rhythm emerges
The confines of the past widens.
First one chapter presents,
We tentatively turn the page unsure about this next journey
Yet we trust that we are becoming.
And forward we go.
